Thai Airways Royal Silk Lounge, Concourse D, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)

Just before our flight to Singapore, we had a chance to visit the Thai Royal Silk Lounge, one of the best lounges I've been to. And as a business class passenger, we had access to the Thai Royal Orchid Spa where one gets a free neck and shoulder massage, foot massage or back and legs stretching. I had the neck and shoulder massage and it was really very relaxing.
The Royal Silk Lounge is located at Concourse D, level 3.
Royal Silk Class passengers departing same day on TG operated flight.
Business Class passengers departing same day on any Star Alliance operating flight
The lounge is open from 5 am to 2 am.
Lounge Seating Area
The lounge which has a total area of 2,410 sq. meters can accommodate 314 passengers. I love the color combination of this lounge.
The glass windows make the lounge look brighter and bigger.
There's plenty of seating areas to choose from.
The internet corner has 6 PCs if you need to check your emails. There is also free wifi with the username and password written on a sign beside the reception.
There's also a kid's room for the younger passengers to enjoy their time while waiting for the next flight.
The main buffet area offers a wide selection of food, from salads to hot buffet to desserts.
There is also the lounge lobby bar where you can order some drinks. Right after having my massage at the Thai Royal Orchid Spa, I decided to have a light lunch which consisted of some dumplings, fresh fruits and a glass of lime water.
Thai Royal Orchid Spa
The Thai Royal Orchid Spa is located at Concourse D Level 3, just opposite the Royal Silk Lounge. At the reception, I was asked to fill up a form as I presented my boarding card. For my first time visit at the spa, I had the neck and shoulder massage which lasted for about 30 minutes. The masseuse was very professional and as I learned from my queries, she has been doing this job for 4 years now.
I probably would be trying the foot massage on my next visit sometime in June.
I love the design of the sinks and the toilet bowls. Isn't it Japanese? The toilets were always kept clean.
It was actually my first time to visit this lounge since I remember coming to the smaller Royal Silk Lounge when I flew with Qatar Airways from Bangkok two years ago. This is definitely a much better lounge with lots of space, very good food selection and with glass windows making the lounge look bigger and brighter. The access to the Thai Royal Orchid Spa is absolutely a big plus. I was actually looking forward to it since it is only in Bangkok that Thai Airways offers this kind of free service. Overall, a very nice and effective lounge.
