January 9, 2014 So it was another flight with Austrian, although this time much shorter since it's within Europe. The seats were okay as well as the food. And with great service, I have to say that Austrian is definitely at par with Lufthansa.
Boarding started on time at Gate F36.
The business class cabin has a 3-3 configuration with the middle seat being blocked. 8 out of 12 seats were occupied on that evening flight to Stockholm.
My window seat.
Not a very spacious legroom but for a short flight, it was not that important.
The blocked middle seat.
Some postcards and Vienna program leaflets in front of the seats.
As displayed, the catering service is done by DO & CO.
The main course was some sort of a burger which I thought had a lot of pepper in it.
The whole dinner served in one tray consisted of the main course with salad, bread and butter, and dessert.
My dessert tasted very good.
And of course, a cup of tea to finish the meal.
Toilet and Lavatory
This looks pretty much like the one on Thai Airways Airbus 380-800.
No personal TV monitors but still OK for a short flight.
Flying within Europe in business class may not be that appealing since most of the European airlines offer the same kind of service which is pretty basic. One has to fly long haul in order to experience the difference between the service and food. Nevertheless, there are still airlines which are very good in the European market and one of these is Austrian. Too bad they don't have a very nice lounge in Vienna considering that it is their hub. Overall, a very nice flight within Europe. Danke schön, Austrian. Auf wiedersehen!
