Introduction

January 16, 2014 After the ten-hour flight from London to Seoul and then transiting in Incheon, it was now time to head to my final destination, Manila. As usual, I was expecting the same excellent service and good food that I'm used to getting from Asiana and I have to say they never fail me.

Boarding

My boarding pass issued by Asiana Airlines.

The Airbus 330-300 taking me to Manila that night, just three days before Christmas day.

Boarding started on time at Gate 46, with a separate line for business class passengers.

Cabin

The business class cabin has a 2-2-2 configuration with a total of 30 seats. That night, more than half of the cabin was full.

The armrest controls.

The reading lamps are located between the two seats.

Pretty spacious legroom.

The seat controls giving you at least four variations.

As soon as I was seated, the cabin attendant came and offered something to drink. I settled for a glass of water. After awhile, the captain came to the PA and informed us of the flight time to Manila which is 3 hours and 50 minutes. The immigration and customs cards were also distributed together with the Asiana pen. Take off was actually 30 minutes delayed due to air traffic.

 

Dining

The menu card as well as the wine list. As usual, there was the choice of Korean and non-Korean dish. The Korean meal consisted of the traditional Pan Fried Yam "Seoyeohyangbyeong" and the nutritious "Ssambap". The champagne was the same as the one on the London-Seoul route, Piper Heidsieck Brut.

After setting up the table, the cabin attendant served the appetizer which was Smoked Duck with Mixed Greens.

Main Course

Deep Fried Chicken Breast served with Doobanjang Sauce, Vegetables and Steamed Rice

 

The other choice was Grilled salmon served with mushroom cream sauce, asparagus and potato.

 

Cheese: Blue, Cheddar, Maroilles Nouvion

For dessert, they had White Chocolate Panna Cotta, plus various selection of coffee and tea. Since I was already feeling full, I skipped the dessert and tea. Afterwards, hot towels were distributed.

Entertainment

I thought I would watch a film and ended up with The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Toilet and Lavatory

Inside the lavatory, there were amenities which included combs and toothbrush and toothpaste. Also, there were the usual L'occitane skin care products.

The toilet with a small window for viewing whatever is outside.

Of course, the slippers are a must for Koreans and since the flight was not that long, I took it with me and gave it to my stepmom instead. Coats and jackets were returned to respective passengers when descent started and about nine minutes past eleven in the evening, we landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

 

Conclusion

Again, another great experience flying with Asiana Airlines. The food was great, the service was excellent and the whole flight itself was enjoyable. Till next time, Asiana Airlines. Kamsahamnida!
